2 french singer/songwriters who managed to make a mixture of the color and energy we usually find in electronic music and the sensuality and the freshness of traditional english-american pop music. The eleven songs on the album are sung in English and definitely carry a positive message.
After many years of musical experiences, Laurent Dutrait and Charley Elbaze have both reached a creative and artistic maturity and decided to team up for their first cooperation on an album: “Rebirth”.
Rebirth
Laurent Dutrait : This album is for me some sort of a rebirth as an artist. In the beginning we had no idea where we were going with this project, we’ve just put aside our folk guitars and took out our electric guitars and synths instead. We just wanted to write good pop songs because it’s our common culture with Charley. We wrote “so easy” and “money and gold” very quickly. Bit by bit everything came together. The mixture of our voices sung in unison and the idea to build our own sound gave this particular color to the songs.
Charley Elbaze : Yes, the "latency" is now over. This album is for me a personal achievement. But before all it is a message of hope, joy and optimism. I’m totally convinced that the music we listen to influences our vision of the world, same thing with lyrics. Some tunes have the power to cheer people up. The rose on our cover represents the flowering. This music we've always cherished, we can now share it.
